Justice Africa initiates in-depth research projects and policy analyses, designed to go beyond a conventional appraisal of South Sudan’s shortcomings, and rather, stimulate dialogue on deeper questions facing the nation. Furthermore, Justice Africa is expanding our attention to the Horn region in order to provide a broader context within which to place South Sudan, to learn more about the common challenges facing these countries, and to expand the relevance of our insights to broader contexts and crises. While the subject matter and method of each research project may differ, the common thread throughout is a prioritisation of the lived experiences, perspectives and needs of South Sudanese – a principle that has been embedded in Justice Africa’s work since the organisation’s founding.
